Questions about WDFL-LD

Is WDFL-LD broadcasting in ATSC 3.0 (NextGen TV)?

WDFL-LD broadcasts in NextGen TV (ATSC 3.0) only. Low-power stations aren't required to keep an old-format signal, so TVs without a 3.0 tuner can't receive it.

Will WDFL-LD stop working on my TV?

Low-power stations play by different rules. They can already switch to NextGen TV whenever they choose, with no requirement to keep an old-format signal — and the broadcasters' proposed shutoff dates don't cover them. WDFL-LD has already made the move.

Why can't I get channel 18?

Start with a full channel rescan (Settings → Channels → Auto scan) — stations change transmitters and frequencies more often than people expect. WDFL-LD transmits on real (RF) channel 11, which is VHF-high. Many flat and "HD" indoor antennas are built mainly for UHF and do poorly on VHF-high (channels 7–13). If this station drops out while UHF stations come in, try an antenna that lists VHF-high reception, or one with rabbit-ear dipoles extended.
